Larger trees that sit at a nice distance from your home and anchor the beds are lovely additions and don’t forget that there are many shrubs that flower and/or have different color leaves. If the yard is particularly large you may want to make an additional bed of shrubs, small trees or a single larger tree somewhere on the other side of the yard to both even things out and not have just one feature.
